Outcasts Dance Complex is run by a married team; Emilie & Anthony Cordero. Growing up, both of us experienced bullying, multiple chronic health conditions, and struggled with mental health issues, but both of us also found a positive outlet in dance that helped us to push through our struggles. That love and passion for dance continued into adulthood for both of us, and we began teaching dance lessons in hopes of not only inspiring and educating the next generation of dancers, but also providing them with mentors who would be there for them and be positive influences in their lives in ways we both needed when we were our students’ age.
After almost 8 years of mentoring and teaching hip-hop at a studio we called home, the business abruptly closed. Instead of allowing ourselves to stay down, we decided to found “Outcasts Dance Complex”; a place where all are welcome. The one and only requirement is a love for dance and a willingness to learn.
We believe that dance is a beautiful art form where ALL are welcome and ALL belong; we are not in competition with any other studio or business, but instead believe there is room for all of us to succeed.
We are one community with a common love and passion, regardless of where we all may come from or what we’ve been through.
So even if you’ve ever felt like you didn’t belong somewhere, or felt like an, “outcast”, we want you to know that you will ALWAYS have a home here.
